Tips
Nicorette gum or some other nicotine replacement thingy.

A small pillow to put against the spine.
Headset and music player with extra batteries.
Small earplugs.
Eye mask.
Small thing of kleenex (I always dry out on long flights).
Ask for water when you're thirsty.
And take a long, hot bath once you land and get situated.
My dad also says you shouldn't go to sleep until the local time hits the time you usually sleep, and I think that's pretty good advice.
Have fun, Sara. Have a safe flight.

Handheld games (and a bunch of extra batteries!)
Laptop with DVD or a new game (and a bunch of extra laptop batteries!)
Foooooood
Shoes that will slip on and off easily so you can subtly be wearing just socks on your feet
Deck of cards
Some face wipes or something so that you can get the other-people-scum off of you and feel less slimy (not that Sara is ever slimy!!)

Sleeping pills, lots of them. There's nothing like falling asleep for four hours only to wake up still on the runway due to "delays" before a long flight.

I definately agree with the drugs that will hlp you sleep. i once slept through an entire bussride from Cincinatti Ohio to Tallahassee Florida. It was great! also, the slip off shoe thing is a must.
